Vacation Day 2, Oswego Visit

This afternoon we drove up to my hometown, Oswego, NY. On the way, we saw my favorite movie theater, the Midway Drive-In
(triple features!). After arriving in Oswego we sat down for a favorite local meal, a Turkey sub at the Oswego Sub Shop (there is something amazing about the orange OSS sauce). Afterwards we made our way to the east side of town to learn about Oswego's role providing safety and protection for almost 1000 refugees during World War 2 at the Safe Haven museum. Rounding out our visit we spent the remainder of the afternoon exploring casemates and earthen palisades of Fort Ontario. The fort was first built in 1755 and was held by the British and Americans through several wars/conflicts.
